Special Olympics
Morning Dove participates in the Indiana Special Olympics by providing equestrian sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics offers riders continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
The vision of Special Olympics is to empower people with intellectual disabilities to realize their full potential and develop their skills through sports training and competition. As a result, Special Olympics athletes become fulfilled and productive members of their families and the communities in which they live. Competing in the Special Olympics equestrian show gives our riders an experience of a lifetime. Last year, one of our participating riders said that it was the best day of her life.
