Intern in Riding Instruction and Program Management- Fall 2022

Job Description

Morning Dove’s is seeking a summer intern to join our team. This person will report directly to the Lead Instructor/Volunteer Coordinator, and work with instructors as well.  The internship will run for 10-12 weeks depending on availability.  Right person will be organized, good with children, and have some experience working with or around horses.  Someone who is a good communicator, strong organizer of activities and people and enjoys working with children and adults is a must.

Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and preparing for summer programs
  • At direction of Lead Instructor organize materials and equipment for each week’s lessons
  • Assist instructors in camps and lessons as assigned
  • Assist with organizing and executing special events as needed
  • Side walk or Horse Lead in lessons as needed
  • At direction of Lead Instructor assist in tracking rider goals and progression

Education and Experience

  • Educational focus in equine-related areas or other areas appropriate to Morning Dove’s mission and operations a must!
  • Must be organized and able to plan and complete a project without excessive supervision
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, and contact management software
  • Some experience with the following would be helpful:
    • Working with and/or leading groups of children
    • Creating lesson plans
    • Volunteer management
  • Familiarity and comfort in an equine facility suggested

Intern in Marketing and Business- Fall 2022

Job Description

The Intern in Marketing and Business Management is responsible for learning and assisting in all aspects of our business management, including vendor management, customer communication, donor support, and event management. With a focus on marketing and event planning, this position will help us plan, promote, and execute several large-scale events to help in our fundraising efforts. 

We are looking for an individual with an aptitude for sales; someone comfortable speaking in front of groups, that possesses strong communication skills, is organized and able to execute on a deadline. 

A knowledge of the following platforms and programs is preferred, but not required:

  • Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn/Youtube
  • Salesforce
  • Wordpress
  • Constant Contact

This position is dynamic and has an opportunity to gain some hands-on experience in a growing field. Working with a small group of people to serve our community can be rewarding, and with a small team our interns receive many opportunities that are not available through other larger scale organizations.

Requirements

The Intern must be at least 17 years old and have a basic knowledge of safe practices around a horses, or the ability to learn.  The Intern must be organized, punctual, and driven.  He/she must have good communication skills and work well with peers and volunteers.  He/she must legally be able to drive, and be on location at our farm in Zionsville, IN for the duration of the internship.
