Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our program.

Morning Dove utilizes more than 100 volunteer hours a week; our outstanding and generous volunteers are an integral part of our organization.

Starting out as a volunteer at Morning Dove, individuals go through an initial orientation as well as ongoing training. They assist in horse handling, sidewalking, preparing for lessons and the care of our horses. We also utilize volunteers to help with fundraisers and administrative work.

We value the skills and experience our volunteers bring to Morning Dove and offer opportunities to continue expanding that knowledge base. Volunteer trainings and public workshops are held regularly to keep up with the demand. Check out our calendar for upcoming dates.

As a lesson volunteer at Morning Dove, our helpers commit to 8-10 week sessions for as much as their schedule will allow. We offer an orientation and training session so that our volunteers are comfortable and prepared. Here’s a list of just some of the volunteer opportunities:

  • Side walking with a rider
  • Leading a horse during class
  • Assisting with fundraisers
  • Service projects
  • Writing grant proposals
  • Office work
  • Barn work
  • Horse care
  • Board of Directors and/or committees

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please download and complete the volunteer form and send them in. We will then contact you regarding scheduling and orientation.
